A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE IS NOT THE KEY TO GOOD HEALTH: LISTENING TO YOUR EMOTIONS IS...

Emotions are primal, instinctive, and immediate. For this reason alone, I think we tend to mistrust them.
They come about quickly, sometimes presciently, and without thinking. But when we start to think
about emotions, they become feelings, they become complicated, they lose their purpose. We start to rationalize and twist ourselves into a mental/emotional pretzel when we don't take them at face value and use them as nature, literally, intended us to.

Emotions are a guide, They are telling you where you are in the physical world, how you and YOU are interacting in the environment...they are your link to your subconscious. They are your own internal feedback mechanism, powered by your soul. Emotions are energy. Can you feel the energy of anger,,the energy of love? One is confining, and explosive, you can feel it building up in your body.
The other is open and generous, it flows smoothly, it wafts across the energetic field around you. One feels good, the other feels bad.

You are meant to feel good. When you feel good you are on your path...your spiritual, physical path. Your soul/subconscious sends you primal emotions in order to guide you in your life. This doesn't mean that feeling badly, or feeling negative emotions is wrong and that we should avoid them. It does mean
that negative emotions are your friend! A negative emotion is a call to action! It means you need to quickly make an adjustment, in the moment, in order to feel better! And if you do, growth occurs,
you remain on your path, you return back to your centered SELF in the moment. You have the opportunity to do this in every moment...so if you miss the moment 5 minutes ago when something made you angry, the same thing will happen again, and you will have ANOTHER opportunity to
adjust back into your normal, happy feeling state. This is a beautiful thing!

Guess what? This is called taking care of yourself. This is called listening to your body. This is FAR
more important than diet, exercise, meditation, yoga, or a healthy lifestyle. All of those things are wonderful...and the MOST VALUABLE asset of diet, exercise, yoga, and meditation, is that they are tools that can help you to tap into your soul, your inner wisdom, because they make you PAY ATTENTION..to how your body feels. To me, that is the value of any "healthy lifestyle" ..listening to your emotional body, your inner guidance system, to what your primal emotions are telling you is FAR more important, and will keep you on the path to good health.

So what happens when you fail to listen to your emotions, use them as God literally intended you to?
You get off your path, you feel wobbly, you don't know where your center is. The energy of anger, guilt, frustration, and grief build and build in your body, your DNA literally contracts. You get sick.
Your doctor says you have a chemical imbalance ( and guess what, you do!, but what caused your brain chemicals to become unbalanced? what caused your DNA to contract and alter?)...and gives you medication. You carry the diagnosis of anxiety, or depression..you have a heavy heart,  a shakiness
and unsteadiness.. you feel and are wounded.

But if you don't  to listen to the energy of anxiety or depression, if you smother the feelings  with medication, cope with them via numerous coping mechanisms that maybe your therapist taught you, then you are at risk for getting Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, or Adrenal Fatigue or IBS or God help you, some other medically mysterious and unexplained "disease"....because all of that built up energy in your body, all of those suppressed negative emotions, need an outlet.  The energy of negative emotion will build up in your body, and find expression in physical symptoms or anxiety and depression...the negative emotion needs to be felt and responded to, and it will keep finding an outlet in your body/mind until you answer it's call! This is an awesome discovery!
